Alas, the new year is upon us! And with it comes a series of unfortunate events, grand opportunities at life, new ventures and financial mistakes from the past month that simply will not go away.
My creative streak seems to have been in Intensive Care for way too long and my immunity has taken quite a beating from the dramatic weather change, stress from the personal and career fronts and a few more than minor cases of paranoia.
That said, I got this funky manual that has given me a new outlook at life. I got it from one of my sisters; one of those beautiful souls you wouldn’t mind spending the rest of your life around. This note has really good advice on dealing with health issues, personality concerns, our outlook on society and life in general. Now, some of the stuff in there is cliche and of the I-hear-that-in-motivational-talks-everywhere variety, but it gets you thinking seriously about what actually matters and what doesn’t.
As a wise uncle once said:
“Sharon, you need to know the difference between what is important and what is urgent.”
